5 Contemporary Novels That I Don't Recommend Enough
Recently I've been thinking about all the books that I love and thoroughly enjoyed that I just don't get to recommend very often and I thought it would be fun to go through and pick up five that I don't think I've ever really mentioned on here before. So here goes:
The Boy Most Likely To by Huntley Fitzpatrick - Rating: 4.25 Stars
This book is so heart-breaking but at the same time super cute. When I first dived into this it was not long after finishing My Life Next Door which if you don't know has some of the same characters but is a completely different story. So I was expecting something similar. But no, I was completely shocked by the turns the plot took and the fact they were so well done. I highly recommend this for contemporary fans. I know I've talked about My Life Next Door before but I don't think I have this one so I thought it was about time I told you that you have to read it, because it's great!
Simple Perfection and Twisted Perfection by Abbi Glines - Rating: 4.5 Stars
I should probably say that you have to read the books released prior to these which are: Fallen Too Far, Never Too Far, Forever Too Far and Rush Too Far. And yes you probably should, they are good books, I just didn't enjoy them as much as Simple Perfection and Twisted Perfection, Woods and Della are much more appealing characters that are full of depth. I would say that if you were to enjoy these as much as I did I would read the ones before first just so you know the other characters but by no means do you have to because both stories are pretty separate. I'd also like to mention if you're not into graphic sex scenes or even just character based stories I would steer clear of these. However they are great books to read if you're looking from a break from your usual reads.
Shuffle, Repeat by Jen Klein - Rating: 4.25 Stars
This book is book that I wasn't sure of when I first started it but it really grew on me and I became addicted. The premise is basically how two teens have to carpool to school and fight over each other's music tastes. Obviously there's much more to it than that and it is full of angsty goodness. But it was great so pick it up!
Just Friends by Tiffany Pitcock - Rating: 5 Stars
This book is written very differently than most books I tend to enjoy but it was so different that it really worked. I think the title gives away all the information you need and would advise you to go into this book without knowing too much because you will enjoy it more if you do.
Amy and Roger's Epic Detour by Morgan Matson - Rating: 4.25 Stars
This is probably the most well known of the books on this list but I had to mention it because it seems to always be a book that just misses out on a spot in most of my posts. But I adored this book and it deserves all the love it gets. It follow's Amy and Roger who are travelling together due to certain circumstances and then decide together that they want to take the detour of a lifetime. I would say this is on the slower side of the contemporaries that I have read but it really works well with these characters and the plot.
Anyway, thanks for reading! I hope you enjoyed hearing about some books I don't tend mention very often.
